It was the final meeting of the Horfield Families year last night and we held a very successful AGM despite England playing in the semi-final of the World Cup at the same time. We were so grateful to Father Patrick for chairing our meeting when I’m sure he would have preferred to be at home watching the match on TV – although now we know the outcome, I don’t think he minded in the end. We tried very hard to keep the latest score from him.

The high spot of our evening was welcoming back Gill Wilding from her trip to London to receive her very prestigious Points of Light award from Teresa May at 10 Downing Street. This award was in recognition of her 31 years dedicated voluntary service with the Friends for Parents initiative that supports parents of sick children at the Children’s Hospital. We are all very proud of her and our leader Ann gave her our very own Points of Light award on behalf of Horfield Families!
